The Hon. W. E. Parry, Minister of Internal Affairs, left Wellington for Gisborne today. Dr. M. H. Watt, Director-General of Health, will return to Wellington from England by the Tamaroa today. Guests at the Prince of Wales hotel include Mr C. Smith and Mrs W. S. Curry (Palmerston North). Mr H. P. Ahrens, of Pahiatua, and formerly of Masterton, won several prizes in canaries and budgerigars at the Manawatu show yesterday.. The Hon. W. Lee Martin,' Minister of Agriculture, is on a visit to Palmerston North today to deliver the main address at the graduation ceremony at Massey Agricultural College. Mrs Victor Lloyd, of Wellington, who is in Masterton as tutor to the Wairarapa Drama League’s School of Drama, is staying with Mrs, Max Cleghorn. Mr A. R. Todd, of the local branch of the Bank of New Zealand, has been transferred to the Matamata, and will leave for the north next week. His successor at Masterton will be Mi’ P. J. H. Howden, from the Wanganui branch. Mr M. G. O’Callaghan, of the Otago University, was an arrival yesterday at Wellington, where he will join Mr J. B. Aimers, of Victoria College. The two students are going to Australia as a debating team to meet teams from the universities there. After a visit to islands in the Pacific, Captain H. W. L. Saunders, Chief of Air Staff, and Squadron-Leader A. E. Gibson returned by the Matua. They left Auckland by the Matua on June 1 and made a round voyage to Nukualofa, Apia and Suva in the vessel. They arrived in Wellington today. Mr Frank Price (Napier), who has been studying German newspaper methods in Berlin, has returned to London. Mr Price, who is a son of Mr Charles Price, of the Hawke’s Bay “Herald-Tribune,” veteran New Zealand journalist, is travelling round the world gaining experience in journalism. He has held positions in many capacities on a number of newspapers in New Zealand, Australia and South Africa. Mr Charles Price recently retired from the staff of the "HeraldTribune” after sixty-two years’ service.
