BADMINTON
SATURDAY’S MATCH. Considerable interest is being taken in the performances of the N.Z. Badminton Test team (incidentally the first to leave New Zealand shores) prior to their trip to Australia. Followers of the game in the Wairarapa are particularly fortunate in having the opportunity of seeing four, with the possibility of five, members of the New Zealand representative team in action on Saturday evening in the Masterton Drill Hall, when Wellington and Wairarapa A grade representatives will try conclusions. Wairarapa expects to avenge the defeat by Wellington in the Wisden Cup contest at Palmerston North recently. Arrangements are being made for Messrs Hawksworth and G. Pearce (New Zealand title holders of the men’s doubles) and J.’ J. Payton and J. Lulham (Wairarapa title holders) to play an exhibition game. Details concerning the match will be published in the "Times-Age” tomorrow.
