H, Oram, a past president of the Palmerston North Chamber of Commerce, speaking at the annual dinner of that body recently. “At conferences one notices that speeches are written out, which shows that business men feel that their words must be presented only after' careful study and collection of the facts relative to the particular matter in discussion, and that eloquence bears a very secondary consideration when it comes to matters of policy affecting the business and commercial community,”
