RETIRING TREASURER
PRESENTATION BY PLUNKET SOCIETY. MRS N. M. IRWIN’S SERVICES APPRECIATED. A presentation to Mrs N. M. Irwin, who has resigned the office of hon. treasurer, which she had held for the last six years, was made by members of the committee of the Masterton branch of the Plunket Society at their meeting yesterday. Making the presentation to Mrs Irwin of a crystal tray and set of glasses and also of a bouquet of violets, the president (Mrs J. Caselberg) said: — "On behalf of the members of the committee it is my pleasure to ask you to accept this gift, a token of appreciation for the able work you have done as treasurer of the branch during the six years you have held that responsible office. We realise that at times the work must have been arduous and a strain, but I think you will agree with me you have gained valuable experience. You also have the satisfaction of knowing that you have given real service to the community. Personally, it has been a great pleasure to be associated with you and may I add also with Mr Irwin, who has always given ready help and has carried on the work since your illness, besides being an active member of the car committee. We chose this particular present so that he would have a definite share in it. . . We are pleased that you are remaining a member of the committee and wish you health and happiness.”
