PLUNKET SOCIETY

MEETING OF MASTERTON BRANCH. The monthly meeting of the Masterton branch of the Plunket Society was held in the Plunket Rooms yesterday afternoon. Those present were: Mesdames J. Caselberg (president), S. Smith, J. C. Broad, N. M. Irwin, W. A. Michael, R. F. Beetham, D. Donald, T. F. -Watson, C. Carmine, E. G. Norman, J. V. Gordon, J. James, T. W. Wardell,. J. M. Coradine, H. H. Daniel], T. Jordan and A. F. Stewart. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames S. L. P. Free, D. O’Connor, A. Ericson, R. Pilmer, H. Morrison (Tinui), A. H. Falloon, E. G. Eton and R. Miller (Kopuaranga). A circular was received from the Wellington branch regarding the nominations of members for the Dominion Council. The nominations are to be in by the first week in July. The date of the annual meeting was fixed for Wednesday, July 12, at 2.30 p.m. Thanks for donations were expressed to the following:—Mr Lee, two bags of wood; Mr R. Graham, cones; Tinui Women’s Institute, seven knitted vests; Methodist Women’s Auxiliary, six knitted vests. Accounts amounting to £6B 8s 8d were passed. The nurses report stated: Visits to office, adults 400, babies 373; pre-school children, 86; telephone, 114; total, 973. Visife to homes, new cases 57; old cases 209; total, 260. New cases for month (town) 19; total number of babies on books, 420; total number of older children, 337; new cases charted (town and country), 25. Outstations: Blairlogie, Langdale, Tinui, 2 visits each; Kopuaranga, Mauriceville West, Hastwells, Homewood, Riversdale, Mangamahoe and Ihuraua, one visit each. Tinui district: New case, 1; visits to new cases, 3; visits to old cases, 23; total, 26. Mauriceville district: New. cases, 5. Visits to' new cases, 7; visits to old cases, 20; total, 27. Pre-natal section, total visits, 19.
