FEATHERSTON

PERSONAL ITEMS (“Times-Age” Special.) Mrs A. Park, Lower Hutt, who has been on a visit to Mrs L McKenna, I-e--hautea. returned to her home today. Mi and Mrs W. Ross, Pahautea, will leave this week on a motor tour of the north. The funeral of the late Mr Percy Baron took place at the Featherston Cemetery yesterday afternoon. The Rev. J. T. Holland conducted the service at the graveside. The pall-bear-ers were Messrs G. Brandon, Whiter, V. Gooding and A. Gooding. Mrs Irvine Robertson sister of Mrs A. Robbins, of Pigeon Bush, who has been for a number of years a resident of Toronto, has always taken a keen interest in the Plunket Society, later becoming president of the Mothercraft Society of Canada, a position she still holds. Her valuable work has so interested her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, that during a holiday cruise to Jamaica, Mrs Robertson received a wireless message from her Majesty commanding her presence at Queen’s Park on May 22. Mrs Robertson thereupon returned to Canada. The captain and officers in the boat keenly appreciated the honour conferred upon their passenger. Some time ago Mrs Robertson received a letter from Lady Helen Graham, of Windsor Castle, stating that Her Majesty had read with great interest the annual report of the society, the Queen adding a message to Mrs Robertson in her own writing.
