RETURNED SOLDIERS

INCREASE IN MEMBERSHIP. APPOINTMENT OF DELEGATES. Seventeen new members were elected at the monthly meeting of the Central Committee of the Wairarapa Returned Soldiers’ Association at Masterton last night, bringing the financial membership for the first three months of the present financial year up to 371. Those present were Messrs R. Whyborn (president), H. G. Alexander, J. H. Irving, A. G. Wallis, W. R. McMinn. L. T. Wylie, H. J. Brass, L. S. Nicol (Masterton), C. A. Chennells, A. T. Murray (Carterton), Miss L. Higginson (Greytown), A. Robbins (Featherston), and N. C. D. Mason (Martinborough). Messrs Whyborn and Mason were appointed delegates to attend the Dominion Council meeting of the N.Z.R.S.A. at Wellington on June 21. Remits to be placed before the forthcoming conference were considered.
