WOMEN’S DIVISION RESULTS OF FLOWER . COMPETITIONS. ("Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Women's Division of the Farmers’ Union was held in the Parish Hall when Mrs. Wakely presided over a good attendance of members. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames Baker, Brandon, Boston, S. Burt and Carter. Four new members were elected. An invitation to the birthday party of the Greytown branch was received and accepted. Two small accounts were passed for payment. It was decided to send a donation of £5 5s to Flock House. It was resolved to hold a branch birthday party on July 7, invitations to be sent to Wairarapa branches to be present. There was a good display of flowers in the competition. The judges were Mesdames Arch Clark and Tutbury. The results were as follow: Flowering shrubs: Mrs! R. Watson 1, Mrs. Charles 2 and 3. Cut blooms: Miss Gooderick 1, Mrs. Charles 2 and 3. Bulbs: Mrs. Charles 2. The tea hostesses were Mesdames C. Buck and Boston. Personal Items. Mr. Wilf Sadler is spending a holiday in Auckland and is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. W. Franks, formerly of Featherston.' Messrs. P. M. Cade and J. Bentley, of Pahautea, are visiting Mangatainoka for the school jubilee. Interhouse Matches. ’ The first interhouse matches of the season were played yesterday. In basketball. A and B divisions. Nikau defeated Konini and Kowhai defeated Rata. At football the results were: A division: Kowhai defeated Rata and Konini defeated Nikau; B division Rata defeated Kowhai and Konini beat Nikau.
