As an indication of the exceptionally mild weather, mushrooms are growing in large quantities in the Featherston district. Old residents state that they never remember having seen mushrooms growing in June. LADIES’ HOCKEY CLUB A SUCCESSFUL DANCE. The Featherston Ladies' , Hockey Club held a very successful dance in the Anzac Hall on Monday night when there was a good attendance. Mr C. Buck made a capable M.C. The music was supplied by Udy’s Orchestra and Miss M. Matthews played extras. The supper was in charge of a strong ladies’ committee. The committee is to be congratulated on the success of the first dance. Personal Items. Miss Roger (Christchurch) and Mr and Mrs B. Ward (Napier), were the guests of Mrs Charles over the weekend. Mrs W. Robinson has returned home from a short holiday in Taihape. Mr Kilsby, who has been visiting his son, Mr A. S. Kilsby, has returned (home to Taranaki. Miss Nancy Sadler (Palmerston North) and Messrs S. Ward and J. Sadler (Wellington), were weekend guests of Mrs W. H. Sadler (Tauherenikau). Mr J. W. Card has returned home from a short visit to Levin.
