WOMEN’S INSTITUTE COMPETITION RESULTS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Martinborough Women’s Institute was held yesterday and was presided over by Mrs Lamb, there being a good attendance of members. Two new members were elected. Mrs Joblin, president of the Wairarapa Federation, was present and gave a very instructive address on Institute matters. After the afternoon tea adjournment Mrs Joblin demonstrated the making of bead handbags. She was accorded a very hearty vote of thanks and presented with a beautiful posy. A competition for coconut ice was won by Mrs L. Chapman with Mrs W. G. Cuthbert second. Next month’s competition will be for hand-knitted hot water bag covers. These will be presented to the Buchanan Home at Greytown.

MINIATURE RIFLES SCORES IN COMPETITIONS. The best scores in the Martinborough Miniature Rifle Club’s competitions last evening were as follow: — Senior: D. Flynn, score 69, handicap 1, total 70; C. Pickering 69, 3, 70; E. Findlay 68, 2, 70; Mrs Boyd 69, 6, 70; S. Harvey 67, 4, 70; W. George 67, 5, 70; F. Brassell 67. 7, 70; Mrs Wilson 66, 3, 69; Mrs Davidson 66, 5, 70. Juniors: M. Marflitt, score 68, handicap 5, total 70; C. Skill 65, 5, 70; J. Turner 63, 5, 68. S. Green won the weekly button with a score of 83. Inter-club Matches. The inter-club matches between Martinborough and South Featherston on Thursday night resulted in the A grade match being won by South Featherston and the B grade game by Martinborough.
