STOCK MARKET
EKETAHUNA SALE. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report as follows:—At our weekly sale held yesterday at Eketahuna wo submitted a large yarding of all classes of dairy stock to a good attendance of the local public. The specially ■ advertised dairy herd came forward in good order and met with keen competition. These cattle comprised mostly 3rd and 4th calvers and best sorts made from £8 15s to £lO 15s, with the exception of two cows for which calving dates were not available, the herd averaged £9 ss, which must be considered most satisfactory. Despite the early date, there was a strong demand for the cows but heifers met with rather a slow sale. We report prices as follows: —Cows due July-August, £8 15s to £lO 15s; later calvers, £7 to £7 15s; heifers, r.w.b.. £7 ss, £6 15s; small do., £5 10s to £4 15s; three-quarter cows, £4 10s to £3; cows in milk, £2 10s to £4 10s; good weaner heifers, £3; empty cows and heifers, £1 to' £1 10s; fat cows, exdairy. £3 15s; bull calf, £1 10s. Aged ewes, r.w. S.D.. 2s. Weaner pigs. 5s to 3s.
