KEEN INQUIRY FOR BULLOCKS AND STEERS. The Associated Auctioneers report as follow: —A good yarding of sheep and cattle came forward yesterday, and was offered to a large attendance. Competition on fat sheep was slightly easier, very few pens of well finished ewes being yarded. Interest was keen on store sheep and breeding ewes, a total clearance being effected. A large entry of fat cattle came forward, the majority showing the effects of the dry season. Unfinished sorts were slightly easier. There was a keen inquiry for bullocks and steers, these showing an improvement. Cows and heifers sold on a par with prices ruling at the last fair. Calves were as follow: — Sheep: —5-year ewes, r.w. S.D. ram, 7s to Ils 9d; m.a. ewes, r.w. S.D. ram, to Ils 2d; 4th ewes, r.w. S.D. ram, to 14s; f.m. ewes, r.w. S.D. ram, to ss; 2th wethers, to 12s 9d; 2th wethers (small), to 9s Id; f. and f. b.f.’s, to 16s; woolly wether lambs, 6s to 8s Id; ditto (small), 4s lOd to 5s 9d; fat wethers, 18s, 18s 3d, 18s 6d to 19s 2d; fat ewes, 12s, 13s to 14s 6d; light fat ewes, 9s 6d to 11s 6d; fat lambs, 13s to 15s. Cattle: —Fat P.A. heifers, £6 to £7 12s 6d; ditto (light), £4 10s to £5 15s; fat cows, £5 10s to £6 6s; ditto (light), £4 to £4 15s; ditto (dairy sorts), £3 2s 6d to £4 Is; runners, £3 18s to £4 10s; fat steers, to £7 7s; P.A. bullocks, £5 9s, £6 11s, to £6 15s; 2J-year Hereford steers, to £4 16s; 18-months steers, £3 2s 6d, £4 to £4 10s; P.A. cows and calves to £4; P.A. cows r.w.o. £3 to £3 10s; empty P.A. cows, £2 15s to £3; store cows, £2 Is to £2 10s; 18-month, P.A. heifers, to £3 Is; weaner P.A. steers, £2 6s to £3; weaner P.A. heifers, to 375.
