TRAMPING CLUB
ARRANGEMENTS FOR COMING TRIPS. Arrangements for forthcoming tramps were made at a meeting of the Wairarapa Tramping Club, held last night. Five new members were elected. The secretary was instructed to write to Mr S. Caley wishing him a speedy recovery from his illness. A vote of thanks was passed to Messrs Dunderdale and Gray for their offer, which was accepted, of the use of their rooms for future meetings of the club. It was decided that in future al. meetings of the club be held monthly on the first Thursday in the month beginning in July. Members were asked to make up private trips for the King’s Birthday weekend. The following weekend it was proposed to visit the Mitre Flats, the organiser to be Miss McKenzie, who is to be advised by the previous Thursday by those wishing to make the trip. The party would leave at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 10.
MAURICEVILLE COUNTY COUNCIL.
PURSUANT to the Provisions of Section 2, Subsection 4, of the Counties Act, 1931, NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the following statement comprises an estimate of the proposed expenditure and all other particulars required to be notified by the terms of the said Act for the year April 1, 1939, to March 31, 1940. ESTIMATE OF EXPENDITURE. '
The total rateable value of the property on the Valuation Rolls of the County is £599,716. Details of the above Estimate of Expenditure may be inspected at my Office in Leecroft Chambers, Masterton, during office hours on or before the 9th day of June, 1939. GENERAL RATES. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, pursuant to Section 54 of “The Rating Act, 1925,” that it is the intentipn' of the Mauriceville County Council, at its next meeting, to be held on MONDAY, at 11 a.m., the 12th day of June, 1939, at the County Office, Mauriceville, to make and levy a GENERAL RATE OF ONE AND FIVE-EIGHTHS OF A PENNY IN THE £ on the Capital Value •of all Rateable Property in the County of Mauriceville for the year ending the 31st day of March, 1940.
AND ALSO to collect sufficient of the Annual Recurring Special Rates in respect of the several Special Rating Areas in the said County, to' provide for the payment of the Annual Instalment and Interest on several Special Loans raised in respect of those areas. AND NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT all such rates shall become payable on the 12th day of July, 1939, at the County Office, or at my office, Leecroft Chambers, Masterton, and that the Valuation Rolls are open for inspection.
