LADIES’ AUXILIARY. MONTHLY MEETING IN MASTERTON. The monthly meeting of the ladies’ auxiliary of the Masterton Y.M.C.A., held yesterday, was attended by sixteen members. The president, Mrs Beecroft, who was in the chair, referred to the death, since the last meeting, of Mrs Elmsley, a valued member of the auxiliary. Members stood in silence, as a mark of respect. Apologies for absence were received from "Mesdames Mackay and Prescott. On behalf of the auxiliary, Mrs Beecroft extended a welcome to Mrs Nicholls. Good wishes were also expressed to Mrs Corskie, who is shortly leaving for England. The business of the meeting was rhainly a discussion of details in connection with the annual Mother and Son Tea, to be held in the Association Hall, on Wednesday next, May 31.-It was reported that Mrs H. E. Pither had consented to act as principal speaker for the evening. Arrangements are well in hand and it is anticipated that the function will be 'a distinct success.
At the close of the meeting, afternoon tea' was served by the hostesses for the month, Mesdames Clarke, Corskie and Hessell.
