A POPULAR COUPLE

GUESTS AT KAITUNA GATHERING. Miss Lona Shaw and Mr Alan Keir, two popular residents of the Kaituna district, were guests of honour at a gathering held in the Kaituna Hall recently and arranged by the settlers. There was a large attendance, including a number of visitors from Masterton. A most enjoyable time was spent and a large number of gifts were received.

During the course of the evening the members of the Kaituna-Fernside Women’s Institute presented Miss Shaw with a card table in appreciation of the services she had rendered the Institute, having occupied the office of president for two years. Miss Shaw and Mr Keir were warmly congratulated in connection with their forthcoming marriage and were accorded musical honours. The music was supplied by Mr West and extras- were played by Mr Norm Cooper. Mr Owen Wyeth made an excellent M.C.
