WEDDING

HORDEN—HART. A pretty wedding of considerable interest to residents of Carterton and the Wairarapa generally was celebrated at St. Joseph’s Church, Wellington, on Saturday, May 13, when Miss Gladys Amy, ("Girlie”), only daughter of Mr and Mrs W. A. Hart, of Wyndham Street, Carterton, was married to John Alfred, only son of Mr and Mrs D. A. Horden, of Sydney. The bride who was escorted by her father, looked charming in a storm blue model frock. She wore a black hat and accessories to tone with a shoulder spray of beautiful roses. The bride was attended by her cousin, Miss Eileen Corlett, of Victoria Street, Carterton, who was attired in a model frock of earth red, hat and accessories to match. She wore a necklace of pearls the gift, of the bridegroom, and also a shoulder spray of roses. Mr Irvin Hart, of Masterton, eldest brother of the bride, acted as best man. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Dr. Gilholly, of -St. .Joseph’? Church. After the wedding a reception was held at the Mayfair Cabaret, where the usual toasts were honoured. Mr and Mrs Horden were the recipients of many useful and valuable wedding presents, including several cheques. Mr and Mrs Horden left later on their honeymoon travelling north. After a short stay in New Zealand they will leave for Sydney, New South Wales, their future home. ■■ The bride’s going away frock was of black wool georgette, with gold trimmings. She wore a black Burton hat and a lovely fur coat and carried a, crocodile skin handbag, the gift of the bridegroom..
