THE NEW CORSETS
REMEDY FIGURE FAULTS. SELECT A PROPER FOUNDATION. You can be young and have a front line which is not what it should be from too much time spent curled up in an armchair with a box of svzeets and an absorbing book; or you can be a mother who has not taken proper care of her muscles, so that they have grown weaker and weaker, until the inner fat deposits have increased beyond all proportions. On the other hand, you may be one of those women who has had loss of figure, like age, creep up on you. Home cares, outside events, careers that are too absorbing, other things that have made you unheeding. Whatever the cause, the remedy is the same. You must select a foundation that has some support built into it across the abdomen. The new corsets have all sorts of ingenious ways of doing this —in fact, so much thought has been given to it that it would seem to be woman’s most prominent figure fault. There are some very innocent controlettes of satin and other glamour fabrics with light linings ingeniously boned in front. Others have concealed inner-belts to lift the abdomen'before the corset is fastened to flatten the fine. This is the most efficient of all corsets for abdomen types. Some have front or back lacing, and for comfort and efficiency they are hard to better, for the laces can be adjusted daily, as tight or as loose as you want them. If you prefer a corset to a one-piece, choose it with a well-boned front that comes up higher than the back, to cover the waistline. Whatever you ■choose, have the foundation fit you snugly at all points, and long enough to sit down in comfortably.
