Mrs Howard Jackson, Carterton, has returned from a visit to Taupo. Miss Bellis, Pownall Street, Masterton, is visiting Wellington. Miss R. Burling, of Masterton. is visiting Wellington. Mrs J. Mulvaney has returned to Masterton from a visit to Makuri. Miss I. Tankersley, Johnstone Street, Masterton, has returned from a visit to Nelson. Mrs E. J. Brown, Church Street, Masterton, has returned from a visit to Seatoun. Mrs Bramley, of Hawke's Bay, is visiting her parents,. Mr and Mrs W. lorns, Dyerville. Mrs Toxward, Hogg Crescent, Masterton, who has been visiting Auckland, has’ returned to Masterton. Mrs W. G. Lamb. Herbert Street, Masterton, who has been spending a week at Lake Taupo, has returned to Masterton. Mrs Hanna, who has been the guest., of Mrs H. H. Daniell, The Terrace, Lansdowne, has returned to Wellington. Mr and Mrs A. Logan have returned to Wellington after having spent the weekend in Masterton as the guests of Mr and Mrs Physick. Miss Noeline Physick, a former pupil of St Matthew’s Collegiate School for Girl's, who has been visiting Masterton;'' has returned to her home in Patea. Mrs Brian Greensill and her daughter, Maureen, who have been the guests of Mrs T. R. Barrer, Masterton, are at present in Wellington en route to their home in Queen Charlotte Sound. Miss J. E. Stewart, for the past six years toll operator at the Masterton Telephone Exchange, has been appointed supervisor at the Te Awamutii exchange. She leaves Masterton in about two weeks’ time. A very pleasant evening was spent last Saturday at the Orange Hall when Mr and Mrs J. R. Physick • entertained seventy guests at a dance held in honour of the 21st birthday of their daughter Noeline. Among the guests were visitors, from Nelson, Wellington, and Upper Hutt. Miss Physick was the recipient “of many beautiful presents. McKay’s Orchestra provid-ed-c.the dance music. Mr Henderson was M.C. ENGAGEMENTS. BELL—BLAKE. The engagement is announced of Amy, daughter of Mr and Mrs W. J. Blake, Lansdowne, Masterton, to Alexander Murdoch, youngest son of Mrs D. Bell, Masterton, and the late Mr D. Bell, Ayrshire, Scotland. HILLS—EDGE. The engagement is announced of Alice Eleanor, third daughter of the late Mr T. Edge and Mrs Edge, Masterton, to Ivan James, younger son of Mr and Mrs H. Hills, Masterton.
