BIG EARTHQUAKE
0 FIFTEEN HUNDRED MILES FROAI LONDON POSSIBLY NEAR AZORES OR IN AEGEAN. AN ABNORMAL INDICATION. (Independent Cable Service.) (Received This Day, 10.15 a.m.) LONDON, May 8. A big earthquake, which was recorded in the early hours of the morning, is believed to have occurred 1500 miles from London, possibly in the Atlantic near the Azores or in the Aegean Sea. The needle swung six inches, the usual swing being approximately half an inch.
