CENTRAL SCHOOL DANCE

SATURDAY NIGHT’S GATHERING. The second of the fortnightly Old Time dances held at the Central School on Saturday evening drew a record attendance of patrons. The committee of the Parents’ Association has done all in its power to make these dances the social event of the week, and the sociable spirit which prevailed throughout the evening on Saturday proved its efforts to be most successful. Music was supplied by Jack Barnes’s Rhythm Boys, extras being played by Mr H. Hood and Mr E. Coddington. The Monte Carlo prizes were won by Miss Fulton and Mr Foster. The duties of M.C. were capably carried out by Mr W. R. Nicol. Supper was served by lady members of the committee. The evening terminated with a full circle singing “Auld Lang Syne” and God Save the King. The next dance will be held on May 20.
