GOLF COMPETITIONS. LADIES AND MEN'S SECTIONS. (‘‘Times-Age” Special.) On Saturday the ladies’ and men’s sections of the Eketahuna Golf Club played competitions with the following results: — Men: Stableford Bogey, M. Fraser, 38pts; N. Richardson, 35pts; H. Walton, 35pts; W. J. Henderson, 34pts; M. Shale 33pts. The teams match, president v captain, was won by the captain’s team by 6 games to 2, with 6 games halved. Ladies: Canadian foursome; Miss P. O’Donnell and Mrs Mcßride, 95-28-67; N. Greathead and Miss A. Simmers, 94-24-70. Alarm of Fire. An alarm of fire was sounded about 6 o’clock this morning, a minor outbreak, which’was soon dealt with by the brigade, occurring at the residence of Mr M. Herbert. FOOTBALL MATCHES. SPLENDID WIN FOR EKETAHUNA. The Eketahuna seniors scored a splendid win against Nireaha on Saturday at Eketahuna, by 21 pts to 9. Ron Johnson, the ex-Red Star (Masterton) player was in great form. He scored three tries and converted a similar number. Fafeita and Low also scored tries for Eketahuna. Petersen scored a try for Nireaha and Peterson and Sigve'rtsen kicked penalty goals. The following are the results: — ; Senior. Eketahuna 21, Nireaha 9. Hukanui 9. Pahiatua 6. Mangatainoka 26, Marima 5. Konini 6, Hamua 0. Third Grade. Pahiatua ,5. Eketahuna 0.
