LENGTHY SERVICE
FARMERS’ UNION CHAIRMAN. RESIGNATION OF MR PATTISON. (“Times-Age” Special.) Mr R. Pattison, chairman of the Kumeroa branch of the Farmers’ Union for nearly forty years, has resigned from office. At the annual meeting of the branch the other day Mr Pattison, who stated that he was 82 years of. age, appealed for a younger man to take over the position. For the past 37 years, since the formation of the Union, Mr Pattison said, he had been associated with the movement and for practically the whole of that period he had been chairman of the Kumeroa branch.
Mr A. Ramsden, in accepting the position of chairman for the ensuing year, made very complimentary reference to Mi’ Pattison’s record of service on behalf of the union and the branch.
