BOWLING SEASON

MASTERTON CLUB’S OFFICIAL CLOSING. At the closing of the Masterton Bowling Club’s season on Saturday, bowlers over 60 defeated those under 60 by a substantial margin of points and as a result the younger members had to provide the afternoon tea. Mr G. Hayne, on behalf of members, thanked the president, Mr Gooding, for his able generalship during the year and made reference to the genial relations that existed between the president and members. In acknowledging Mr Hayne’s remarks, Mr Gooding expressed thanks to the members for their co-operation. He referred to the excellent greens which they had enjoyed during the year and to the possibility of introducing social evenings during the winter months, with a view to giving members an opportunity of keeping in touch with each other.
