CLAY BIRD SHOOTING

* MEETING AT LAKE FERRY. FIRST PRIZE TO MASTERTON COMPETITOR. (“Times-Age” Special.) There was an attendance of 32 shooters at the South Wairarapa Gun Club’s clay bird shooting competition at Lake Ferry on Saturday last. The weather conditions were not good. Smith, of Masterton, who shot exceptionally well, breaking the possible number of “clays,” 21. The second prize winner was a very young competitor, lan Sutherland, who also shot remarkably well under the adverse weather conditions, breaking 18 birds. Among the shooters were several from the Hutt, and the Hon W. E. Parry, Minister of Interrial Affairs, who, at the conclusion of the shooting presented the prizes.
