A MAN TO REMEMBER
A SOUL GRIPPING DRAMA. OUTSTANDING ATTRACTION. There is to be shown at the State Theatre commencing with the late session on Monday night at 10.20 o’clock one of the most outstanding pictures of the century, “A Man to Remember.” It is the story of a country doctor, a soul-gripping drama full of pathos, laughter and love. The role of the doctor is taken by that -accomplished actor Edward Ellis, who has created a Hollywood sensation by the masterly manner in which he depicts the unselfish, kindly doctor whose charitable gifts and free service to the community keeps him poor all his life. It is a drama of self-effacing sacrifice and in it Edward Ellis is so realistic that there is scarcely a dry eye among the women folk in the audience. It is very rarely that such a magnificent picture is presented on the screen. Ann Shirley, as the doctor’s ward, shares with Edward Ellis the triumph of a great picture. There is a strong supporting cast in this magnificent story of “A Man to Remember.”
