COMPETITIONS AT MANGAHAO. MASTERTON OWNER SUCCESSFUL. (“Times-Age” Special.) The Pahiatua-Makuri dog trials were held on Mrs M. J. Beech’s property, Mangahao during the week. Events resulted as follows: — < Long head (open): G. Thomson (Masterton) Speed, 44 points, 1; A. Ayres (Dannevirke), Tip. 41 points. 2; S. Herbert (Pongaroa), Sky Pilot, 38 points, 3; E. W. Eddie (Mangahao), Help, 36 points, 4. Maiden: E. W. Eddie (Mangahao), Help, 36 points, 1; J. Smith (Alfredton), Jan, 33 points, 2; C. H. Hodgens (tane), Shep, 321 points, 3. Novice: S. Wylie (Nika'u), 31 points, 1. Results of the competition for estimating the weight of a sheep are (correct weight 431bs): C. Widen (421) and Mrs K. Mair (431) tied for 1; Mrs W. Bain (44), 3.
