Regulations gazetted last evening define the duties and obligations of doctors, obstetrical nurses and licensed maternity hospitals which elect to come into the maternity section of the social security scheme. The following scale of, fees is prescribed: — Payable x to Hospital Boards. For the day or days of labour, £2 ss. For each of the 14 days succeeding the date of the birth of the child, 12s 6d a day. For any patient actually . attended during labour and at delivery by a medical officer employed by the hospital board, an additional fee of £2. Payable to Licensees of Licensed Maternity Hospitals. For the day or days of labour, £2 ss. For each of the 14 days succeeding the date of the birth of the child, 12s 6s a day. __
