OLD BOYS' FOOTBALL CLUB. ("Times-Age” Special.) At the annual meeting of the Old Boys’ Football Club the following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—Patron, Mr W. Anderson; president, Mr C. H. Parsons (subject to consent); vice-presidents,' Messrs R. Gallagher D. H. Butcher, J. A. Taylor, P. Fauvel, O. Johansen, J. Ammundsen and S. J. O’Regan; secretary, Mr O. G. Reynolds; auditor, Mr D. Howden; club captain, Mr H. E. Rogers; joint coaches, Messrs P. Bouzaid and O. Stone; social committee, Messrs D. Howden, Johnston, Hammond, Low, Fallaver, Stone selectors, captain and coach; field captain, D. Fallaver; vicecaptain, Mr Johnston; third-grade coach and selector, D. Butcher. The opening game of the season is set down for Saturday, April 29. It was decided that practices be held on the Alfredton Road Domain every Thursday night commencing at 7 o’clock. A practice match with Nireaha has been arranged for Saturday next. The club's colours are to be white jerseys and black shorts. The subscriptions were fixed at 5s for senior players and 2s 6d for third-grade players. WOMEN’S DIVISION. MEETING AT MANGAONE. At the annual meeting of the Mangaone Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union there was a good attendance of members. The election of officers resulted as follows: —President, Mrs F. B. Lowes (re-elected); vice-presidents, Mesdames Wilton, L. Eagle and J. Reid; secretary, Miss Thompson (re-elected); advisory members, Mesdames Lowes and M. Castle; librarian, Mrs Fulton (re-elect-ed). Tea was served by Mesdames G. and A. Judd. The annual report stated: —During the year we held ten meetings which were well attended by members and enjoyed by all. Miss White gave two very interesting lectures during the year one on her trip to Singapore, the other on a trip to India. Mrs Wilton lectured on sweet pea growing for show purposes. Two very successful euchre parties were held, one to raise funds and the other to celebrate our fourth birthday and we also collected money to give the children of the district a Christmas Tree Party. A box of Christmas gifts was sent to the Makogai Lepers, and goods sold for the disabled soldiers. Donations were sent to Wairarapa Provincial Council for Community Chest fund, also for the adoption of a Chinese child. Two housekeepers were engaged during the year and one sewing baby. We have thirty financial members which is very satisfactory for our small district. The library has proved very popular. We now have about 100 books, and thanks are due to our librarian, Mrs Fulton. Our bank balance showws a satisfactory increase on last year. Cricket Match. During the weekend the Eketahuna Fire Brigade played a return match with Rongomai on the Rongomai ground. The home team won by an innings and 37 runs. Mr H. Rogers thanked Rongomai for inviting them out and also for the very pleasant game. Mr R. Graham responded, and in doing so thanked the ladies for their hospitality. The following were the scores:—Fire Brigade, first innings 26 (R. Holford 8, D. Curry 7, R. Hornblow 5). Bowling: Stevenson, 6 for 10; Graham, 3 for 13. Second innings, 55 (Wilson 22, D. Curry 11, Boustead and Rogers 7). Bowling: Reid, 3 for 2; McKeown, 2 for 8; J. Morrison, 3 for 16; Collett, 1 for 24 . Rongomai, 118 (Stevenson 44, Graham 15 J. Reid 14, McKeown 13). Bowling: R. Hornblow, 3 for 17; Wilson, 0 for 19; Rogers, 2 for 23; Curry, 2 tor 7; Holford, 1 for 13; Boustead. 1 for 9.
