#— HOME AND SCHOOL ASSOCIATION ANNUAL MEETING. (“Times-Age” Special.) There was a very good attendance at the annual meeting of the Home and School Association held in the school last evening. Mrs R. Burch presided. The balance sheet revealed a substantial balance of £lB 7s lid, and it was noted with satisfaction that the total moneys handled during the year was £B4. The president’s report was presented to the meeting and adopted. The election of officers resulted as follows:—Patron, Mrs A. Tyler; president, Mrs E. R. Burch; vice-presidents, Mesdames L. J. Chapman, H. L. Griffiths, Roy Lawrence, Messrs C. W. Skill, W. J. McNally; secretary, Miss Ivy Smith; assistant secretary, Miss Merle McNally; committee, Mesdames Beveridge, Banks, Blackwell, F. B. Wright, Lumley, Dale, Knell, Sadd, Hayman, Jones, Miss Alpe; auditor, Mr W. C. D. Mason.
The president (Mrs Burch) was presented with a posy and shoulder sprays were presented to two retiring committee members, Mesdames Kershaw and Cotter, and the secretary, Miss Smith.
Appreciation was expressed by the president of the untiring help received from Messrs Michell, Mason, Skill, Beveridge, Duff, McNally. On behalf of the pupils and staff of the school, Mr Pryor thanked the association for its good work during the year. He urged more parents to join the association this year. Mr A. Brimble thanked the association for the help and loyal support extended to the School Committee and expressed the hope that it would continue during the ensuing year. After the meeting those present were entertained at supper by ladies of the Home and School Association, and opportunity was taken to bid farewell to. Mr Brimble (chairman of the school committee) and Mrs Brimble, who are leaving shortly to reside in Wei-; lington. Mrs Burch and Mr Roy Lawrence spoke in eulogistic terms of the work done by Mr Brimble for the school. Mr Pryor presented Mr and Mrs Brimble with a beautiful crystal water jug and glasses. Mr Brimble thanked those present for the gift. They were then accorded musical honours. Mrs Brimble Farewelled. The Ladies’ Guild of St. Andrew’s Church on Tuesday afternoon farewelled Mrs A. Brimble who is going to live in Wellington. The Rev. F. A. Ball and Miss Dymes spoke of the good work Mrs Brimble had always performed on behalf of the Church and Guild. Mrs Ball presented her with a posy and a handsome clock from the Guild members. Mrs Brimble thanked the guild members for their gifts. She was accorded musical honours.
