KAITUNA-FERNRIDGE

WOMEN’S INSTITUTE MEETING. (“Times-Age” Special.) Although the monthly meeting of the Kaituna-Fernridge Women’s Institute did not see a full muster of members, a very friendly and jolly afternoon was spent by all present. Mrs J. Welsh (president) occupied the chair. The meeting opened with the Creed and after the business was completed Miss N. Ractcliffe, of Masterton, gave an interesting talk on her travels abroad. The competitions for the month resulted as follow: —Seniors: Muffins, Mrs Keir 1, Mrs Stempa 2; juniors, peanut biscuits, Miss L. Pain 1. Flowers: Mrs Scharnweber 1, Mrs Pike 2. Name of articles on tray, Miss L. Pain. The hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames Shaw and Pike and Miss Birch.
