CYCLIST KNOCKED DOWN

ELEPHANTS FRIGHTEN HORSE. ACCIDENT IN CHAPEL STREET. Taking fright at the unusual sight of three elephants stepping along the street outside the Municipal Buildings this morning, a horse in a four-wheel cart suddenly swerved round and made off down Chapel Street. As the horse whipped round, the cart knocked over a youth on a bicycle. He received minor cuts and bruises but was particularly fortunate that he did not sustain more serious injuries as one of his legs went through the spokes of one of the back wheels, which luckily was secured by a chain and was not revolving. The horse was stopped by a pedestrian, while the elephants continued their way unconcerned.
