BUTTER PRODUCTION
EFFECT OF PREVAILING DROUGHT. - N SHORTAGE AT MAURICEVILLE. A serious shortage of supply as the result of the prevailing drought conditions was reported at the monthly meeting of directors of the Mauriceville Dairy Company, held yesterday. Mr V. K. Lemberg presided over a full board. It was stated that the continued drought whs having a serious effect on the supply and that the output for March showed a heavy decrease as compared with last year. For the ten months to the end of March the output was six tons ahead of the output .for the same period pf last year. The butter manufactured graded an average of 94 The painting of the office and the factory had been completed and, with the tar-sealing of the approaches . to. the factory, Had brightened and improved the appearance of the buildings.
The advance .payment was again fixed at 14d for March supply of firtest butterfat. The paysheet total amounted to £10,433 IQs JOd. ,
