MAHUNGA GOLF LINKS

IMPROVEMENTS DURING RECESS. FINE WEATHER DELAYS OPENING. During the recess season the Mahunga Golf Club has carried out extensive improvements to its course and while the committee had hopes of holding the. official opening of the season on Saturday next, owing to the continued spell of fine weather this will not now be possible. The opening of the links has been postponed until rains are experienced and the greens and fairways are in suitable condition for play. Members are assured of an enjoyable season’s golf as the improvements carried out are of a permanent nature and include new tees and extensive drainage, the latter resulting in the clearance of all surface water from the course. Advantage has been taken of the dry spell to burn off all rough areas of grass.
