♦ iSCHOOL ASSOCIATION. WINNERS AT EUCHRE TOURNEY. ("Times-Age” Special.) The following were the winners at the euchre tournament, held under the auspices of the Home and School Association on Tuesday night. Ladies: Mrs Thompson, 1; Mrs Worsley, 2; Men, Mr Rae, Mr A. Jury, 2; Consolation, Mrs Holland and Mr- H. Campbell. There will be special prizes of lamb and poultry for next Tuesday night’s euchre tournament. Supper will be provided. Personal Items.
The death occurred on Wednesday in a private hospital of Mrs Flora Jean, wife of Mr John Percy Frend of Pihautea. The late Mrs Frend who had been in indifferent health for some time past was 53 years of age. The Rev and Mrs G. W. Blair, of Tawera Road, Green Lane, Auckland, will leave today for Sydney, where they will join the Orient liner Orama, which • will sail for London on April 5. They will be accompanied by their daughter, Mrs A. L. Chilman, of Portland, her nusband, and their little daughter Shirley. Mr Blair will represent the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand at the Irish General Asssembly, which will meet in Belfast early in June. Mr Blair will be remembered as having been the Presbyterian minister in Featherston prior to the Rev R. S. Keenan. He officiated at the marriage of his son Neil to Miss Irene Hyaniason in St David’s Church, Auckland, on Saturday evening, March 25.
