DISTRICT HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS. FURTHER RESULTS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The Greytown District High School sports have been advanced a further stage. In the high jump A. Carter (Tui House) and G. Herod (Huia House) tied for first place clearing 4ft 7in, second. B. O’Neale (Tui House) jumping 4ft 6in. Other' results were: — Long jump: Boys, G. Herod (Huia House) 14ft Gin 1, A. Carter (Tui), 13ft Ulin 2. M. Rees (Kiwi) 13ft lOiin 3. Girls long jump: Isobel Svenson (Tui) 1, Betty Feast (Kiwi) 2, Mary McNamara (Kiwi) 3. Primary boys long jump: L. Pirere '■(Ivloa) 1, R. Day (Kiwi) 2, P. Olliver (Tui) 3. The present position of the House points is: Tui 113 points, Kiwi 112, Moa 108.’,, Huia 841. There are four more events to be completed. Funeral of Mrs Slater. There was a large attendance of friends at the funeral of the late Mrs Slater which took place at Greytown yesterday afternoon. The members of the Greytown League of Mothers attended the service which was held in St Luke’s Church. The Rev Canon Sykes officiated at the service in the Church and at the graveside. Among others floral tributes were received from the Greytown Croquet Club and the Greytown branch of the League of Mothers. Personal. Mr H. Bassett, of Matarawa, is at present an inmate of the Greytown Hospital.
