MOTOR MISHAPS

ACCIDENTS ON CASTLEPOINT ROAD. SEVERAL LUCKY ESCAPES. There was an epidemic of minor motor accidents on the Castlepoint Main Highway on Saturday, no less than ten cars being involved. Loose metal and the resultant clouds of dust were the main causes. No cases of injury were reported although there were several lucky escapes. One light car capsized near Whakataki and the passengers were extricated with difficulty. Breakdown lorries and mechanics had a busy day yesterday as a result of the mishaps.
