Mr H. Flaws, Wairarapa Automobile Association officer, has returned from his annual leave.

Mr J. F. Broome, late of Wellington, commenced his duties today in the Wairarapa Hospital Board’s offices. The death occurred recently at Inglewood of a son of Mr R. A. Rose, formerly of Masterton, the noted athlete.

Mrs S. V. Gooding, The Terrace, who has been an inmate of the Masterton Hospital for the past six weeks has returned to her home.

The Rev. G. B. Stephenson, vicar of Dannevirke, has been appointed a canon of Napier Cathedral, in succession to the late Canon E. D. Rice. Mr F. .Robinson, of the Eketahuna Post Office left on Saturday on annual holiday which he will spend with his parents in Christchurch. At the Pahiatua Hospital on Saturday the death occurred of Mr James Donaldson, formerly of Otorohanga, and father of Mrs James Ward, Pahiatua, at the age of 61 years. The following have been elected members of the Tutaekara Domain Board:—President, Mr T. H. Verry; secretary, Mr R. B. Humphrey; members of board, Messrs A. P. Jensen, J. Mabey and C. Mabey. The Prime Minister, Mr Savage, the Hon. D. G. Sullivan, and the Hon. Parry, left Auckland last night by the Limited express for Wellington. There was an enthusiastic scene at the station the Waterside Workers’ Band attending. Mr Savage addressed a large crowd before the train departed.
