‘ HASTWELLS HOCKEY CLUB.

ANNUAL MEETING.

(“Times-Age” Special.)

At the annual meeting of the Hastwells men’s hockey club Mr R. Payne presided over a fair .number of players.

The following officers were elected for the ensuing season: —Patron, Mr J. Dick, snr; president, Mr A. Thorby, vice-presidents, Messrs H. E. Great-' head, R. McKay, W. Bird, M. Priest. D. Ryan; secretary, G. Ruakere; treasurer, R. Dick; club captain, R. Dick; committee, C. Larsen, J. Dick, R. Gordon, R. Thorby, L. Gyde; delegates to Hockey Association meeting, R. Gordon and G. Ruakere. It was decided to hold a dance on April 18 and to commence the weekly, table tennis tournaments on April 27 with a Yankee tournament. • Eketahuna Stock Sale.

At the Eketahuna stock sale yesterday good w.f. wether and ewe lambs were slightly easier in price but cull and medium>lambs met a good market and made values on a par with recent sales. Cricket Association. At a meeting of the Bush Cricket Association fixtures for the remainder of the season were decided on as follow: Saturday, March 25: Eketahuna v Pahitua, at Pahiatua. Sunday, April 2: Mangamaire v Pahiatua, at Mangamaire. This completes the season’s games.' It was agreed to accept a challenge from the Dannevirke juniors for the Pickard Shield, to be played at Pahiatua on Saturday, April 1, commencing at 1 p.m. r Mr Montgomery submitted draft rules for the formation of the association and was accorded a vote of thanks. It was decided that the rules be brought up for adoption at the next general meeting and a copy be forwarded to secretaries of all clubs and also the Southern Hawke’s Bay Cricket sub-Union for their approval. Bush v Puketoi. The following team has been selected to represent Bush in a match against Puketoi on Sunday, at Pongaroa: M. Fredrickson, C. C. Smyth, J. McKay, K. Dungan, R. Murch, D. Signal, H. Higginson, C. Gallon, A. Mills, A. Gowler, E. Meade and W. Leath (twelfth man).
