MEETING OF OLD BOYS’ CLUB. LIGHTING OF MEMORIAL PARK. . Mr N. G. Rayner presided over a good attendance of members and supporters of the Old Boys’ Football Club, held last night. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year: Patron, Mr G. G. Hancox; president, Mr N. G. Rayner, vice-presidents, Messrs Jenkins, Roach, Cameron, Jones, Morton, Nutt, Davis, Mackley, Burling, Forsyth and Smith; club captain, Mr Mackley; delegates to Wairarapa Rugby Union, Messrs F. Morton, N. Rayner, and J. Payne; committee, Messrs Denbee, Hatton, O’Callaghan, Rayner, Faulknor, Wickens, Dyer and Burling; auditor, Mr.N. H. James; selection committee, club captain, team captains, vice-captains and coach; coaches, senior, Mr J. A. Payne; junior, Mr I. A. Hart; thirds, Mr F. Parsons.
It as decided to send letters of appreciation to last year’s coaches, and to the ladies’ committee for their good work. A letter was received from the Masterton: Football Club regarding a proposal to flood light Memorial Park. The meeting unanimously favoured the proposal and Messrs Rayner, Morton and O’Callaghan were appointed delegates to attend a meeting of the three clubs concerned. It was decided to forward the following two remits to the annual meeting of the union: “That players having a bye or injured players be granted free admission to any club games on that date”; and “That a subsidiary competition be held for third grade players on the lines of the Redmond Cup competition.” Nine new members were elected, and it was decided to nominate senior, junior and third grade teams in the competitions.
