SLOVAK INVASION

Diplomatic quarters, state that the Hungarian invaders acted with Germany’s approval. It is reported that Germany sanctioned the invasion in an effort to stampede the Slovaks into a more binding agreement with Germany. LENGTH OF TREATY. GERMAN “PROTECTION.” (Received This Day, 10.45 a.m.) BERLIN, March 23. The German-Slovak Treaty remains in force for 25 years. Germany assures protection of Slovakia and has the right to maintain military establishments there. BERLIN STATEMENT. “A VAGUE AND DOUBTFUL FRONTIER.” (Received This Day, 10.55 a.m.) BERLIN, March 23. Official quarters refuse to comment beyond pointing out that the Hungarian troops probably crossed a very vague and doubtful frontier line between Ruthenia and Slovakia and will return when they discover their mistake.
