EKETAHUNA

WOMEN’S INSTITUTE. MEETING AT RONGOKAKO. (“Times-Age” Special.) There was a good attendance at the annua) meeting of the Rongakokako Women’s Institute over which Mrs Sigvertsen .presided. The election of officers resulted as follows: President, Mrs J. P. Sigvertsen; vice-presidents, Mrs W. Nagel and Mrs S. Smith; secretary, Mrs W.' O’Neil; treasurer, Mrs M. Morriss; committee, Mesdames Baucke, Payne and R. Farrow.

Four delegates were nominated to attend the Federation meeting to be held at Woodville in April. Two new members were welcomed. During the afternoon the President, on behalf of the Institute presented Miss N. Smith with a gift' in view of her approaching marriage. The winners of the competitions were as follow: Best bloom, Miss D. Nagel (red geranium) 1, Mrs, R. Farrow (gladioli) 2. Madiera cake, Miss D. Nagel 1, Mrs J. Payne 2. Juniors: Plain scones, Miss D. Nagel 1, Miss P. Littler 2. Points prizes won during the year were presented to Mrs O’Neil for industrial, Miss E. Sigvertsen for flowers and Miss D. Nagel for industrial (junior). A skill test was won by Mrs R. McAnulty and Miss N. Smith. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdames Schormann and J. Drysdale, after which the singing of the National Anthem brought a most successful meeting to a close.
