DRY AND FLAKY SKIN
THE RIGHT TREATMENT. The exact opposite to an oily skin is one which is dry and flaky. This type of skin condition calls for treatments which will, feed and nourish it. Wring a towel or face-cloth out in hot water and then hold it over the face for a few minutes. This will open up the pores of the skin and make it more receptive for its nourishment. Then' lightly massage oil into the skin with the fingertips, continually applying oil until the skin has absorbed as much as is possible. If you prefer to you can massage with skin food or nourishing cream. It is really immaterial what is used, providing it is nourishing and oily. This treatment can be repeated once or even twice a day. Flabby skins, providing red veins are not apparent, can be improved with ice treatments. Wrap a small piece of ice in a face cloth and then massage this quickly and lightly over the face and the neck. This will tone up the skin considerably, and, providing the ice is not allowed to remain for more than a very brief period on the skin, no harm can result.
Another easy and excellent treatment for flabby skins is to ad'd a few drops of eau de Cologne to a saucer of milk and to slap the face with the lotion. One advantage with this treatment is that it has a refining action on the skin.
