MISS M. BANNISTER
A FAREWELL PARTY. Mr M. G. Mackay expressed the sentiments of over sixty young people when, at a farewell gathering tendered to Miss Molly Bannister in the Savage Club Rooms, last night, he wished her a safe and happy voyage to England, where she is to be married. Mr Mackay said that her friends held Miss Bannister in very high esteem for her many personal qualities, and they wished her every happiness in her future life. In a few words the guest of honour replied, and sincerely thanked them, for the many beautiful and useful gifts for her future home that had been given her that evening. Misses N. Welch, J. Laing and M. Mackay arranged this pleasant function in honour of Miss Bannister. Jack Mackay’s orchestra supplied the music and a thoroughly enjoyable evening was brought to a close with with the singing of “Auld Lang Syne.” Mr A. Mackay acted as Master of the Ceremonies.
