BOWLING
PARK v. CARTERTON. On Saturday afternoon four rinks from Carterton paid a friendly visit to the Park green and an enjoyable com test concluded with honours even, both clubs scoring two wins. Details are as follows. Park players being mentioned first in each instance. Wiltshire, Wallace, Osborne, Gibson (s), lost to Hart, Gaze, Simmonds, Barber, 19/22; Aydon, Leigh, Roff, Thompson (s), beat Smith, Foster, Callender, Beales (s), 27/10; Kilmister, Newton, Bell, Shearer (s), beat Hawker, Savill. Riggs, Whyte (s), 22/17; Taylor, Smith, Brown, Staniforth (s), lost to Lynch, Spooner, Robertson, Sorensen (s) 16/17. ' MASTERTON CLUB GAMES WITH SOLDIERS’ CLUB. During the week-end the Masterton Soldiers’ Club paid a visit to the Masterton Bowling Club. Three games of eight heads each were played. The bowlers, although hard put to it at times, won by a good margin. The Soldiers’ Club acted as hosts and entertaiped the bowlers to afternoon tea. The gathering was unanimously voted by all as a great success and other social visits are being looked forward to by members of both clubs.
