MAURICEVILLE
GARDEN PARTY. ("Times-Age” Special.) On Saturday the weather was perfect for the garden party and sale of work arranged by the Mauriceville sub-branch of the Plunket Society and held at “Leylands,” Opaki, the home of Mr and Mrs C. Hodgins. The stalls were laden with good things and did brisk business. Afternoon tea was served on the lawn and after viewing the beautiful garden many of the visitors took part in. competitions which resulted as follow: — Clock golf, Mrs J. Broad; chain stepping (ladies), Miss E. Dagg; men, Mr Fletcher: boys, Robert Millar; plate comoetition, Mrs- Hugh Morrison. The following conducted the various stalls:—Cakes, Mrs Neilsen and Mrs Forsberg; produce, Mrs Dagg and Mrs Donald; sewing, Mrs Wright and Mrs Jermy; afternoon tea, Mrs Cottle and helpers. Personal. The friends of Mr and Mrs R. Millar will be pleased to learn that their small son, Hugh, is improving in health. Misses C. and J. Kerr have returned to Mangamahoe from a holiday spent in Mosgiel and Otago.
