HIGH STANDARD SET

INTER-COLLEGE GIRLS’ SPORTS. SWIMMING AND DIVING. Swimming and diving of a very high standard was witnessed at the annual inter-college girls contests held yesterday at Solway College. The relay race was a keenly-contest-ed and interesting event and was won by Solway College, with Wairarapa College second and St. Matthew’s College third. The time for the 100 yards was 63secs. The diving was particularly good and resulted: Wairarapa College, 45 points, 1; Solway College, 41 points, 2; St. Matthew’s College, 34 points, 3. The individual diving results were: H. Callender (Wairarapa College), 1; N. Shepherd (Wairarapa College), 2; A. McGregor (Solway College), 3. Cheers were given for the winners and also for the judge, Mr G. C. Gaze.
