LANSDOWNE SCHOOL
BUSINESS AT COMMITTEE MEETING. DONATION OF BOOKS. The monthly meeting of the Lansdowne School Committee was held in the school last evening. Mi- Logan occupied the chair and there were also present Messrs Dagg, Donovan. Fly, Faulknor, McFarlane, Ross and the headmaster, Mr J. W. T. Jones. The headmaster’s report was adopted. The present roll number was 251 and attendance during the month was quite satisfactory. It was also reported that Dr Mulholland and Nurse Hodge had visited the school and completed the medical inspection of the pupils. A generous donation of books for the library was made by Messrs Pither and Duckworth and the thanks and appreciation of the committee were recorded. The visiting committee reported the grounds to be in fair order. The bicycle shelter had been reinstated and was now awaiting painting, which would be completed during next week. The secretary presented the annual accounts and after discussion it was resolved to forward same for audit. Messrs Pither and McGregor Were appointed a visiting committee for the ensuing month and future meetings were arranged to commence at 7.30 p.m.
