WOMEN’S INSTITUTE

KAITUNA-FERNRIDGE ANNUAL MEETING. TALK ON EARLY WAIRARAPA. The annual meeting of the KaitunaFernridge Women’s Iristitute was held oh Friday last, there being a good attendance of members. Two new members were welcomed. After the year’s report had been given by Mrs Pririgle, the following officers were elected:— President, Mrs J. Welsh; vice-presi-dent, Miss L. Shaw; secretary, Mrs Pringle; treasurer, Miss N. Birch; committee, Mesdames 'Keir, Shaw, Stempa, Welch, Taylforth and Miss L. Pain. During the afternoon Mr C. Bannister gave a very interesting talk on “Early Wairarapa.” The competitions for the month resuited as follow;—Shoe cases: Seniors, Mrs Stempa 1; juniors, Miss L. Pain 1, Miss L. Shaw 2. Flowers, Mrs Pike 1, Mrs Shaw 2. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdames Welch and Pringle.
