GOLDEN WEDDING

MR & MRS J. W. J. JACOB ENTERTAINED. GATHERING ON SATURDAY. The Masonic Hall was crowded on Saturday night when a most enjoyable social gathering was held to celebrate the golden wedding of Mr' and Mrs J. W. J. Jacob, of the Terrace, Lansdowne, well-known and highly respected residents of Masterton for the past twenty years. Practically all members of the family and relatives were present and many congratulatory messages were received from all parts of New Zealand and Australia. During the evening, the eldest brother of Mrs Jacob, Mr G. Davis, presented her with a beautiful cameo brooch and Mr Jacob with a gold pencil. A number of speeches were made extending congratulations to the guests of the evening and wishing them many more years of continued health and happiness. Dancing was held and all present spent a thoroughly enjoyable evening.
