FLOWER SHOW
BIG EXHIBITION PROMISED. VISIT FROM LORD NUFFIELD. The secretary, Mr E. K. Eastwood, reports that all arrangements are well in hand for the Masterton Horticultural Society’s Flower Show to be held in the Municipal Hall next Wednesday. The Autumn Show is of course the largest of the society’s shows and this year it will be a particularly spectacular event. • Mrs Knox Gilmer has consented to open the Show, and arrangements have been made for Lord Nuffield to present trophies won in the garden competitions. In this connection, aIT who won places in the garden competitions are especially asked to be present at the Show from 2.45 p.m. until after the presentation. Greatly increased entries are expected and the secretary wishes to make a special appeal to exhibitors to make their entries as early as possible, so that the work, of classification may be carried through without a last minute congestion. Exhibitors who want schedules may obtain them by phoning 1077 or by reference to either Mr H. L. Esau or Mr D Fairbrother.
